Hello and thanks for visiting my Blog. My name is Chad Convis and I became a certified fitness trainer in the mid-90′s in order to become a better athlete on the AVP Tour (pro beach volleyball). Since then, I’ve explored several exercise methods to continually improve my health and fitness. Some favorites that I currently enjoy include Suspension Training, Vibration Training, Free Weights, Weighted Vest, Medicine Ball, Olympic Lifting, Yoga, Pilates, Cardio, Sprints and Jumping Rope among others. Since the body adapts quickly to the same stimulus it’s important to continually challenge yourself in new ways to keep making gains.

This blog, my website – www.virtualworkoutpartner.com, and personal training business – Gravity Guy Fitness are all dedicated to providing people with information and exercise guidance to help them live healthy lifestyles. If you’re ready to commit to regular fitness and improving daily decisions about the food you prepare/eat and lifestyle choices then we will FIT together well!

I’ve chosen to feature the exercise apparatus called ”TRX” (Total body Resistance eXercise) and it’s new genre of fitness called “Suspension Training” because of it’s effectiveness, efficiency and portability. Essentially, TRX provides instant benefits to users (strength, balance and coordination) and allows for continuous improvements by progressively increasing the difficulty of exercises – such as increasing load, creating de-stabilized environments or changing body position.

The TRX is easy to use and has become my favorite all-purpose training product. Get your own TRX if you don’t already have one and let me help you achieve a better functioning, healhty and stonger body. TRX makes a great gift too, especially for people who lead busy lives and/or travel frequently.

I want weight loss and muscle up trx looks like something I need instead of a gym membership. Outside by a tree might work for you but I prefer inside where do I connect my trx inside to get its full potential.

    Potential buyer of a TRX

    1. OK, let’s start with weight loss! You’ll want to strive for higher repetitions (12-15+, Max 20) per set and as little rest as is comfortable between sets. In order to do higher repititions you may need to regress the exercise a bit to make it easier…typically a simple foot and/or hand adjustment will do the trick (deonstrated in the DVD that comes with TRX, or in some of my videos). Another trick for weight loss is to do timed sets for 15/20 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds or 1 minute per set. As you adapt to the exercise routine you should increase the reps, time interval or adjust (or progress) the exercise to a more difficult position to keep challenged, get fitter and see continuous results.
Thanks for your request. I’ll work on putting together a TRX routine for weight loss video and will post it – great idea!
Muscle Up is a great exercise! There are ways to get stronger with TRX that make doing a muscle up easier…that would make for a short and sweet video just on that exercise.
I like to workout inside too, especially when it’s late at night! I’d recomend anchoring your TRX to a sturdy door with the door anchor accessory, which costs about $20. If you use my affiliate code “gift” at checkout you’ll get a thank you from Fitness Anywhere worth about $20…good idea to get a TRX Pro and use the gift to buy the door anchor or additional DVD. If you don’t have a sturdy door, the X-mount is something that can anchor your TRX to a stud, beam or post. After a while, you’ll take your TRX everywhere with you and will find all sorts of places to work out. My favorite place is still off of a lifeguard stand at the beach…or a volleyball post – when I’m not playing.

    +1

    1. Funny, thanks to the TRX my wife and I let our gym membership expire and now we train together in our own home (or outside somewhere) together via the door anchor accessory. I’d recommend getting the ProPack because it comes with the door anchor accessory and a great starter DVD to expedite your suspension training with TRX! Tip – use the affiliate code “gift” at checkout and fitnessanywhere.com will give you either a $20 gift cert or a free workout download. LMK how it works out for you…or if you have any questions. Cheers…and Work that Body!
